Meet Dr. Michael, the founding and principal dentist at Shire Smiles Miranda. With 16 years in the dental industry, Dr. Michael understands patient anxiety and is dedicated to creating a calm, welcoming environment.
Always keen to listen to his valued patients, Dr. Michael chose dentistry for his ability to ease patient fears, explain concepts simply, build relationships, and solve problems efficiently. Dr Michael believes that knowledge brings confidence and with that confidence comes a sense of calm and control.
He holds a Bachelor of Medical Science (UNSW), Bachelor of Dental Science (CSU), and a Postgraduate Diploma of Dental Implantology (CSU). Dr. Michael is a member of the Australian Dental Association, the International Team for Implantology (ITI), and the BUPA Provider Network. Shire Smiles is a registered Bupa Members First Clinic.
He has particular interests in reconstructive, implant and aesthetic dentistry. Dr Michael stays current with industry advancements through regular courses across Australia.
In his free time, he enjoys being with his wife and daughters, travelling, staying fit, and beach outings in summer. He also likes hiking, road trips in cooler months, home renovation projects – and learning to fly!
Dr Fiona brings over 13 years of dental expertise to our practice. She holds a Bachelor of Dentistry with Honours (Hons) from the University of Sydney, showcasing her commitment to excellence in dental care.
She has extensive experience in all areas of dentistry, with a particular interest in minimally invasive and preventive dentistry as well as clear aligner treatments like Invisalign.
In her free time, Dr Fiona loves spending time outdoors, especially when walking her beloved dogs. She also enjoys exploring the local dining scene for the best ramen!
Dr Fiona is available for appointments, catering to patients of all ages. She looks forward to helping you achieve and maintain optimal oral health.
With a background in finance and business management, Anne-Maree supported Michael in opening Shire Smiles and is now supporting our patients and staff as the practice manager. She loves to meet new people, so joining as the practice manager was the perfect next step.
Welcoming and supporting our patients to feel comfortable is one of her favourite parts of her role.
A mum of two young girls, outside of the practice life is very active and Anne-Maree loves spending time outdoors at the beach or park with her family.
Cassie has been a dental nurse and receptionist for almost seven years. Her calm approach to patients always keeps their fears at bay and makes the patients feel safe and comfortable.
Cassie enjoys all aspects of dentistry having experience in a wide range of treatments from general dentistry to cosmetic and surgical procedures. Cassie has attended multiple dental conferences where she constantly strives to learn and grow her career in dentistry to provide the best patient experience. She also loves working with children having previously worked in childcare.
Stephanie has worked as Qantas cabin crew for many years and made the transition to the dental industry two years ago.
Always smiling and happy to help, Steph is a registered dental assistant and she is currently undertaking further studies to become fully qualified to take X-rays, scans and photographs for our patients.
Elise puts our patients at ease the minute they walk in with her warm smile and friendly patient manner. She has been working as a dental assistant for 5 years, having come to Shire Smiles from New Zealand.
Elise is highly experienced in all areas of patient care, and also has a keen interest in the science behind dentistry. Outside of the practice, you might catch her snowboarding and spending time at the snow.
